First of all, Breathe! We want to be on the record with this: we are technically not in a recession, yet. We’re in a period of slowed growth. It’s not time to panic, but it is time to prepare. And knowledge is the key. That’s why Buck the Slump is here.

Buck the Slump is a news resource and blog dedicated to the economic slump and the anticipated recession. We’re providing news, analysis, tips, advice, comfort, and most of all, help, for you and your friends to better weather this storm and future storms. The information Buck the Slump provides will be useful you to you for the rest of your life, even long after the economy recovers.

We don’t believe in alarmism and we certainly don’t believe in scaring our readers. Thus, you are going to find an optimistic but realistic take on everything we cover. We’re not only going to bring you the bad news, but we’re going to bring you people’s stories of success overcoming adversity.

Some of what you can expect from Buck the Slump:

  • A daily roundup of all of the news and chatter related to the recession. We’ll bring the news to you.
  • Analysis of key stories and opinions. We’ll break it down to the core points.
  • Information on how to better prepare yourself to succeed during the upcoming recession. There’s always something you can do to overcome the adversity.

I decided to start Buck the Slump after the collapse of the investment bank Bear Stearns and the subsequent firing of one of my close friends from his job. I’m out to change the world for the better, and I think this will do it in a big way.
